Biography

Elvis Raised on Rock is performed by Craig Jefferson. Originally from Worcester and now residing with his wife and 2 sons near Portsmouth, Craig's one and only idol is Elvis Presley.

At the tender age of 5, Craig was already mimicking his idol's every moves, and learned to sing his songs too. Because of this early influence, his voice became remarkably similar to that of the legend himself.

Craig began his professional singing career over 23years ago. It all started in the spring of 1992 with a stint at Barry Island Holiday Park. He became a show red for Butlins and performed many different shows every night. It was on one such occasion that Craig was first asked to perform his Elvis Vegas show and the spark to Elvis' flame was ignited! Spurred on by encouragement from this he went on to perform his Elvis concert weekly for the entire next season.

An opportunity arose for him to play the lead acting role in "The Crazy Horse Saloon" giving Craig the chance to tour the country. When he packed his bags in as "Bad Boy Texas Tom", he went on to perform numerous other roles in Variety Shows, Wartime Remembrance concerts and touring pantomimes.

1996 saw Craig again auditioning for Butlins. Accepting the role of Male Lead vocalist Craig stationed himself in Phwelli, North Wales. He stayed in the holiday Park scene, and it was during this time that he met his wife Carla who was the female lead vocalist, in Woolacombe. They relocated to Carla's home town of Whiteley, Hampshire and got married. It was a chance performance at Carla's Great-Grandmothers 90th birthday that relit his Elvis flame. Carla and Craig set up the highly successful "My Way... A Tribute To Elvis" company, and began touring the country again.

He was voted a finalist in the European Ultimate Elvis Heats 2007 in June and appeared Live on BBC 1 for the 30th Anniversary of Elvis death on the 'One Show'. In September 2007 Craig continued his sucess by winning the crown of Porthcawl Best Festival Elvis 2007, and followed this becoming a finalist in the 2008 European Championships for the 'Walk a Golden Mile in my Shoes Contest'. April 2008 saw Craig winning the 2008 Rendezvous Rivals Elvis Competition' later in that year Craig was finalist in Britain's Best Elvis 2009 heats and went on the get 2nd place in the final. In 2009 Craig appeared appearing as Elvis on BBC1's Gavin & Stacey for the Christams Special on Christmas Day. Craig was honoured to be nomiated as one of the Elvis Masters in the European ETA Masters competition 2011, when he then went on to win a place in the final.
